Literature is a term used to describe written or spoken material. "Literature" is used to describe works of the creative imagination, including works of poetry, drama, fiction, and nonfiction. Literature is how we express our emotion and feeling through words, and how we create worlds and scenarios from our imagination. Is who we are, our culture, our imagination, gateways to another world, another place written on ink and paper. But many great literature work has been banned at some point in time from public view, novels that teach important values and educate children about world affairs and classic themes. Many of these have been banned for having controversial subject, sexual references, this is all done to “protect” our children of strong subjects. But isn’t this violating our freedom of speech, written in the first amendment of the constitution?

I believe education should be open for everyone, and every literature should be available to read for any person of any age. It’s all about maturity, and how they handle the subjects, because this controversial subject exist not only in the books but in the real life and most of the books are trying to get this controversial subject and teach us about them, but in the form of literature. Most of this subjects are taboo in our society and that’s why they are being banned. But this type of books can even boost our education, for the simple fact that they add knowledge. That’s what books do, they help us to grow emotionally, and as a person, as a human being. This is the reason I’m against the books being banned.
